Sitting Wrist Drill

Player sits on his pivot foot knee and extends his stride foot out facing his throwing partner. The stride leg forms a 90 degree angle. The pitcher holds his throwing wrist with his non throwing hand and holds the baseball out in his finger tips. The player holds his elbow at shoulder height with his throwing hand out in front of his face. Using his wrist to his fingers, the pitcher snaps the ball to his partner.

Keys: The baseball comes off the fingers with back spin and the back of the hand faces the sky at release. At the end of the rep the fingers should face the ground.

The Rawlings Comebacker and Pitching Target is an excellent practice tool for a young pitcher when working solo.
